January '25 Recap
On this Ground Hog Day it’s surreal to me at least that we are in the second month of the year! I hear the often tired joke about January being the longest year, but even in the dead of winter, I enjoy it with the beginning of a fresh new year and family birthdays- including my own! This year is the last in my 30’s and whilst it’s little daunting, I want to make this year count, look forward to the future and look to the past with gratitude. [I would fail to be cerebral if I didn’t acknowledge the turmoil we as a collective society find ourselves in. LA is literally burning to the ground, we are in pirogue purgatory as we face a federal and provincial elections, irresponsible Trump tariffs have hit in full force, but at least I just learned Beyoncé has won a Grammy- the ceremony is currently in progress, so maybe, just maybe there is still some sanity left]. This year one of my in’s is to prioritize my health and read for books, and one of the out’s is to doom-scroll less. This includes checking the news to be informed without being a synchophant to the media news machine. 24/7 “Breaking News” is clickbait 99% of the time.
