I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

Must Haves: 0-3 Months

Must Haves: 0-3 Months

1.  LAYETTES

Since newborns sleep 16-18 hours a day, comfort is key.  Dylan spent most of the time in sleepers when he was first born.  My favourite were ones with zippers as it allowed for a quicker change.  I love the layettes from GAP™.

2.  SWADDLE BLANKETS

My son loved being swaddled when he was little.  These blankets by Aden Anais™ are made from natural muslin and are so luxurious.  I kind of wish they came in my size!

3.  SLING

During Dylan's first few months, he was my 24/7 cuddle bug.  The only way I got stuff done was when I carried him around in my ring sling.  I love this one by Sakura Bloom.™  I researched various slings and carriers and opted for this one because both my husband and I can use it regardless of our height difference and it also can be used throughout Dylan's toddler years.

4.  CAR SEAT COVER

As I had my baby in March, I didn't want to purchase a winter coat that he'd only get a few weeks of limited wear out of.  I choose this cover from J.J Cole™ because it was one of the few that didn't compromise the safety and function of the car seat.

5.  STROLLER

I love my stroller from Baby Jogger™ (City Select).  It can expand as your family does, has lots of configurations, and is easy to assemble and maneuver.  It also is at the lower price point of the nice stroller group.  My husband and I bought less expensive pieces for Dylan's nursery and car seat (ALL have to pass the same rigorous tests), but many moms advised us to invest in a good stroller.  They were right!

I put this in the 0-3 month category because as I had a C-section I couldn't do much for a few months, but I could walk to keep active.

6.  BOUNCER

My son still loves this bouncer seat.  In the beginning it was especially handy as I could place him in it and get ready, make some lunch and even just whisk away to the bathroom.  We have used it quite a bit and have only needed to change the batteries once.  You can find the one we purchased here- Taggies-Soothe-Me-Softly-Bouncer.™

7.  TOYS

Babies don't need a lot of toys at this age.  Mommy and Daddy lovingly talking to them and giving lots of hugs and kisses is the best entertainment (and still is with a six month old)!  Dylan did like his "Diego the Fox" though and we'd play the 'Kiss Game' with it, which involves the stuffed animal giving Dylan a kiss on both his cheeks followed by his nose.  We got ours from Tidwell Hollow Friends.™

8.  BABY MILESTONE BOOK

I wanted to find a book to record all Dylan's firsts that wasn't too "babyish."  I found this book with stunning graphics and layout at Anthropologie called "Welcome Baby."

9.  PACIFIERS

We call this the "Mute Button."  My mom got Dylan this one from Gerber™ and it proved to be his all-time favourite.  Thanks Nana!
