I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

HALFWAY RECAP

I cannot believe that I have reached the halfway point in my pregnancy!  I've read blogs where pregnant moms post a weekly update, but for me there's usually not anything noteworthy from one week to the next.  My goal is to do a trimester recap and focus more on other baby things... like decorating the nursery!

HOW FAR ALONG: 19 Weeks, 4 Days

BABY:  Baby is really moving! My husband was able to feel the first rolls too last night which was really special.  The baby weighs .5 lbs and is 6 inches long (about the size of a mango).

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN/ LOSS:  7 lbs (I gained 2 lbs in the first trimester and 5 lbs in the past 6 weeks)

MATERNITY:  Pants and leggings always.  I still wear some flowy shirts and tanks, but have dug into my maternity stash too.

BELLY BUTTON: Still an innie- but it's only a matter of time!

OBSESSING OVER:  Wondering what the gender is and to be truthfully honest, to hear if everything is a-ok with our little one.  We opted against having an early scan that can include an amniocenticis as it poses a risk of miscarriage and we personally wouldn't terminate a pregnancy.  I'm at peace with our decision yet the fear of the unknown can plague me time to time.  This baby is so loved already, so it's natural I worry... but I continue to pray and remind myself: DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU THINK!  #psalms139baby

SLEEP:  Insomnia has hit me hard.  I am so tired these days, yet have trouble sleeping at night haha! Go figure.

CRAVINGS/ AVERSIONS:  This can change week to week.  Lately I have wanted tuna, pickles, and grilled cheese sandwiches.  For whatever reason I can't eat yogurt on it's own... and peanut butter toast.  Random, I know.

MORNING SICKNESS:  The struggle is real.  The first trimester was really difficult and things have eased up a bit thankfully, although I usually get sick daily.  However; I have been able to gain weight and it is beyond worth it!

Thanks so much for reading! xx
