Thanksgiving In Québec
This Thanksgiving, we lugged the kids in our humble Dodge Caravan and drove to my Grandma’s house in small-town Québec. It’s been years since I have seen her due to the distance, the fact that she can no longer travel my way and of course the pandemic- especially as she is immunocompromised and elderly. Now that we are all vaccinated, we both felt comfortable having a long overdue family reunion.
As my parents moved back to my father’s hometown a few years ago and conveniently now live in the same neighbourhood as her, it made for the absolute perfect scenario and it’s one I commit to regularly taking advantage of. Aside from visiting my grandmother, connecting with extended family and meeting my parent’s friends was wonderful and I love that I can place faces to names now. A highlight for the kids was exploring my parent’s cottage, touring Norway Bay and second cousin Raya’s treehouse, and of course playing with Great Uncle Rod and Rex the pup!
We had an amazing time, which is why I didn’t take too many photos! I am so grateful.
