I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

Hello Third Trimester... And Halloween!

Hello Third Trimester... And Halloween!

As of last week, I have been in my third trimester.  On one hand this pregnancy has gone by so fast; on the other I feel as if I were pregnant forever.  We are so in love with our little one and can't wait to meet him in 10 weeks!

HOW FAR ALONG: 29 weeks

BABY:  This little guy sure keeps busy!  His kicks, punches and rolls get stronger by the day.  I love it!  The baby weighs about 2.5 lbs and is 15 inches long (about the size of a butternut squash).

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN/ LOSS:  To my honest I am not entirely sure, but my best guess would be somewhere around the 15 lb. mark.

MATERNITY:  Same

BELLY BUTTON: It's flat at this point, but is about to pop!

OBSESSING OVER:  Decorating the nursery.  We are almost done with the wainscotting and I am about to order a crib blanket, feature wall piece and decals.

SLEEP:  Same

CRAVINGS/ AVERSIONS:  This can change week to week.   As of right now I cannot eat coleslaw, store-bought mac and cheese, coffee (insert sad face emoji) and anything spicy that can trigger heartburn.  I have been craving chocolate almond milk, cottage cheese with mandarin oranges, and pomegranate.

MORNING SICKNESS:  It's picked up steam again in the third trimester as it did with Dylan.  It doesn't have anything to do with hormones at this point, but rather it has to do with the size of the baby pushing food up my esophagus.  I shake in my head in amazement that some women feel great in pregnancy.... I wish I were one of them, but if the end result is a healthy baby, I have it pretty good!

I will say that despite the aches and pains, overall I LOVE being pregnant.  As someone who has encountered loss, it shapes my perspective on the hard days.  I have so much to be grateful for- especially knowing that in 10 weeks I will be snuggling my little baby boy.  Thanks so much for reading! xx
