I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

Pregnancy Update

Pregnancy Update

HOW FAR ALONG: 35 weeks

BABY:  I joke that he should have been on the show Prison Break.  His movements are so wild these days- he's probably plotting his escape!  The baby weighs approximately 5.25 lbs and is 18 inches long (about the size of a honeydew melon).  Braxton Hicks have also been in full swing too!

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN/ LOSS:  16 lbs.  Morning sickness and a bout of gastroenteritis have made gaining the recommended amount of weight difficult.  However; as I'll explain later, I am on a new medication to help me feel better and hopefully gain some weight.

MATERNITY:  Same.  And to be honest, I wear sweatpants a lot.  Comfort is the name of the game at this point.

BELLY BUTTON: Outtie

OBSESSING OVER:  Decorating the nursery.  [I'm going to wait until the spring to do the nursery reveal.  Since my oldest is still sleeping in the crib, the nursery won't be done until Dylan graduates into a toddler bed and Baby Erb transitions from the bassinet to the crib].  I've begun shopping a bit for the baby which is fun!  It's also a little surreal and overwhelming to know that in a few weeks I'll have two under two.  Wish me luck!

SLEEP:  Most nights I am up until the wee hours of the morning with morning sickness.  For a good six weeks, I've been averaging 4 hours a night.  Yawn

CRAVINGS/ AVERSIONS:  I haven't had cravings, but I absolutely cannot drink hot coffee these days.  I had an iced coffee yesterday and that was heavenly.  Decaf latés are fine too.  Go figure!

MORNING SICKNESS:  It's been horrible until a few days ago when my doctor prescribed me a stronger heartburn medication.  This has been an absolute game changer.  I think acid reflux has been the number one contributor to my nausea, and I've now gone almost two days without getting sick! Woo ho!

I think this will be my last pregnancy update until I have the baby as I am scheduled for a c-section in 3.5 weeks!

Thank you so much for your support during this pregnancy! xox
