I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

The Glowing Ginger: Just Keep Swimming

The Glowing Ginger: Just Keep Swimming

During my late teens and early twenties, I was privileged to live in Sydney, Australia.  If you ever get the chance to travel, I highly recommend adding " 'Straya" to your bucket list of places to visit!

For three years I was able to call this beautiful, coastal city my home.  I was reminiscing about my time in Sydney the other day after viewing the trailer for "Finding Dory" [the sequel to "Finding Nemo"].  One of the quotes from the original film, "Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming..." has become somewhat of a life motto for me.

Naturally I am very self disciplined, but occasionally I can find myself in a slump.  This is where I find myself right now.  Kyler has been waking up more throughout the night [Hello growth spurt!], my toddler is ruler of the "terrible two's" and my husband has recently accepted a new job offer.  His new position is a fantastic promotion and holds lots of promise, but the trade-off is we are back to a commute and I stress over the unknowns.  None of these are excuses to neglect my health, but they have certainly put a damper on my motivation.

Julian Michaels said, "Transformation is not a future event. It's a present day activity."  No one has ever regretted a workout or eating a nourishing meal after-the-fact.  Sometimes living healthy, means being healthy even when you don't feel like it.  Today I choose to rise above my feelings.  I choose to just keep swimming.

Time to go into #beastmode!
