My Vision Statement
This motto is my current vision statement. It is something that is speaking to me and guiding my actions.
In a time where there are so many variables outside of my control, I want to influence what I can for good. I am taking an intentional look at several key areas; my faith, health, well-being, finances, parenting, marriage, relationships, service to others… etc, with a longterm view.
I’ve jotted a few short-term goals in the Notes app on my phone. For instance, some small health goals are to plate my food. I don’t want to get into strict portion control/ calorie counting as I have battle disordered eating, but setting the table instead of mindlessly eating out of a box, helps me intuitively gauge my hunger and satiety cues. I use a couple of fitness apps which motivate me and hold me accountable. I’ve struggled terribly with my daily devotions, and while I am ashamed of that, I have carved out some time so it can happen from here on out [when my kids watch their daily devotional video instead or cleaning or scrolling on my phone]. In terms of financial responsibility, I won’t impulse shop and am making some tweaks to our monthly budget and big-picture financial goals. I need to wrap this up as sleep is another priority. It is fundamental so I can reset and have the energy to tick off the rest of the boxes. These are just a few examples I have provided. Some are very personal while others are common sense good habits.
I like goals. They breakdown my overall vision into tangible steps and turn dreams into reality. However; the mission statement is at the core, the heart, of all these goals.
I hope this inspires you to either adopt this or create a vision statement of your own. What is your vision statement? Xx
